Ever since 2008, Wavves has gone on to release seven full studio albums that have found their place in the hearts of fans.

Their debut and self-titled album, Wavves, was originally released as a cassette. But fans and producers discovered the band and quickly gave them the backing to rerelease the album in an LP/CD format. This album features 12 tracks on the original cassette with 2 more being added in the later rerelease.

And while the band had fans at this early point and with their followup album, Wavvves, it wasn’t until their third album that they first broke into the top music charts.

King of the Beach was released on August 3, 2010 under Fat Possum Records. The album was also released as a digital download on July 1 as a result of early leaks. Pitchfork placed the album on their “The Top 50 Albums of 2010” list. And it later peaked at 28 on US Indie album lists. Nathan Williams confirmed on Twitter that the album featured mostly material that were originally demos that he wrote with drummer Zach Hill.

Their most recent album “Hideaway” was released on July 16, 2021. This was the band’s first album since “You’re Welcome” which was released four years prior. The themes of the album were said to be inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was met with favorable reviews with NME calling the album “Wavves’ most original and varied work yet”. While some critics complained that the album didn’t quite reach its potential citing hooks and melodies. But overall, it was a strong showing from a band that had fans hungering for more sick Wavves material.
